Pregnancy diet

I had a gestational diabetes scare and my midwife made me completely change my diet.

Call me a nutrition-crazed health freak but I actually like the look of Meal Plan No 2 better than the Cadbury's chocofest :-) But I would still need my obligatory apres-meal square (or 2, 3, 4...) of dark Green & Blacks...

Err, why is your daughter's Easter Egg included on your plate. Tsk.
Send it over my way, I'm having a fat fest this month.

What, just before Easter?

Agree with Home Mum. Meal No. 2 looks lovely (apart from the Ryvita - ew, can't stand the stuff). If Meal No. 1 had had cream cakes on it, of course, that would have been a whole different matter.

If it was just a scare, does that mean you can indulge in the odd chocolate bar, then? Hope so!

Oh Elsie, poor you! I know how you love your choccies. Mind you, I do rather think I prefer the second plate... melon, olives, cukes... not too shabby!

I'm with the majority - the second plate looks pretty good! Mind you, I'd quite like to follow it up with the first one...

I don't get it with the British and Cadbury - it doesn't even taste like chocolat, blagh. The worst are cream eggs, uaaahhhh...
Mean midwife you have there. What a partypooper!
You must be almost there, no? I managed to keep mine in a little longer (not exactly proud on myself), so our babies will almost have the same age.

Good luck!!! (PS: Chromium worked for me to keep the blood sugar levels under control.)

Definitely know which one I prefer.

Boy #1 just saw your 'before' plate. He now thinks you are the coolest person on the planet.

I would go for number 1 every time and I'm not even pregnant so can't blame that!!! Oh dear!

Hope you are OK.

oh please, far too much praise for plate two. plate 1 is the clear winner, perfect antidote to a heavy drinking session, or indeed the news that you might have gestational diabetes. I do hope you haven't by the way. have you had to do that mad test that involves you drinking sugar-flavoured gloop? and then they tell you you're fine and it was all just a scare? tedious.

but think how much fun you'll have catching up on the chocolate you have sanctimoniously omitted...

Happy chocalicious easter,

Shame! The chocolate looks much nicer!
