The last few times that I have told Betty off for either lobbing her dinner across the kitchen or doing her tightrope act along the back of the sofa, she has looked at me for a good few seconds, and then with a furrowed brow and a concerned little voice has said: 'Oooh dear, mummy's tired - go to bed mummy'.

That is too hilarious. What a character Betty sounds.
It's scary hearing our own sentences echoing from our children's mouths, hah? I love eavesdropping on my daughter when she's playing make-believe games. It's like watching a Mini-Me in motion....
hahaha! That's brilliant. she is a naughty one!
Ha! She's too on the button (if you'll excuse the pun :)
Evenings are usually Daddy story-time in our house and I escape downstairs with a 'Mummy has to make Daddy's dinner' line. Then pour myself a large glass of wine and get on the computer. One night as I was thinking of forgoing the drink and snuggling into the loving arms of my story-telling family my son (almost 3) pushed me out of bed and said 'No Mummy - You GO downstairs and MAKE DADDY'S DINNER!'. Husband thought it was particularly hilarious!
I love it when they work out how to put you on the spot - Flea's latest is "Can you think of a nicer way to say that, Mummy?"
